22/4 - Match Reports, Premier Men

We were at Rahotu for our 4th game looking for our first win against Stratford Eltham.

We had an ok week with few guys out and a few guys back in .

Thomas Kalin answered an SOS call and came back. Replacing Cullum Tito, who is out for a month and Sean Mare who answered the same SOS the week before but copping a head knock and a sore ankle so chances are we won't see him again on the field this year - which is a huge loss.

We started slowly a lot of mistakes... Stratford Eltham got to a handy lead 8 nil with an early penalty and a good try off a dropped pass.

Then probably our best effort of the first half was a try to lock, Luka Cassidy, making a huge break and showing great pace to score with a handy conversion from Jackson Sinclair to make it 8-7.

Then Stratford Eltham managed two penalty's 14-7 after we had a try disallowed after some good play and a good pass from Kusi to Dane Hofman, for his first senior game, crashing over in the corner much to our disappointment.

We turned at 40 thinking we were right in this one but Stratford Eltham upped their game in the second half their scrum dominating ours and causing us problems getting our game going.

Then Stratty scored again making it 21-7 with an uphill battle.

Few injuires hit... we rearranged the deck chairs and we managed to score a perfectly executed try to Kobe Sinclair topping off a solid game for him and a sideline conversion struck beautifully to get us to 14.

Stratford Eltham finished strong with a late penalty and a last play try to get them to 29-14 win which was much deserved. They also had a few out and they would have been stoked to get the win.

For Coastal in the forwards, Jacob Whittle and Luka Cassidy, had strong games with our player of the day Beni Kalin and in the back division Thomas Kalin was sharp in his return and the Sinclair brothers, Kusi and Dane making the most of their limited opportunities .

Replacement Dylan Schuler made a huge impact when coming on for Blake Barrett who toiled hard carrying a sore ankle.

On to Okato next week looking for our first win .

Congrats to the woman with a good win over the Moa and the Div 1 with there win in the earlier game. Cheers to the whole club for helping out when required everyone we've asked is only happy to help.
